On the 4th of February, distinguished guests, dignitaries gathered at Hotel Yak & Yeti to celebrate the official opening of their new Restaurant, “ The Spice Room.” Paying homage to their role as a corporate member of society, Hotel Yak & Yeti contributed a part of the proceeding of their revenue from the checks at The Spice Room to Cancer Care Nepal.

 

 

The Hotel General Manager, Miss Monika Scheiblauer hosted a star-studded dinner at Spice Room to commemorate World Cancer Day. The event was graced by many ambassadors, notable personalities and distinguished guests. The Indian Deputy Chief of Mission Mr Ajay Kumar, Russian Ambassador, H.E Mr Alexei A Novikov, Israeli Ambassador H.E. Mr Benny Omer, Finland Ambassador H.E. Mr Pertti Anttinen, South Korean Ambassador H.E. Mr Park Young Sik, among the list of distinguished personalities who graced the event. 

 

 

Speaking the press, Miss Monika Scheiblauer, “ The Spice Room combines the ideals of the cuisines from India and sets it in a fine and elegant setting of fine dining. The team chef’s that runs the restaurant have been brought from India to set the pace, and bring the true taste of Indian Cuisine within the walls of this grotesque Hotel.” 

 

On the occasion of the opening; Yak and Yeti as part of its corporate social responsibility in collaboration with Cancer Care Nepal contributed a part of its revenue from to support and encourage the noble work being carried out. The Chairman of Cancer Care Nepal graced the occasion to receive the token of our appreciation.

Spice Room is an Innately Indian Fine Dining Destination. Set amid verdant gardens, Spice Room combines luxe, lit interiors with a high-class, yet an inclusive fine dining restaurant. The wooden interiors and floors dedicated to the traditional Newari carving have been retained whereas the wall pattern redefines the theme of Spice Room. Renowned for its authenticity, the destination is a harmony of tastes expressed through a signature medley of colours and unparalleled flavours.

 

The restaurant shall be operational for breakfast lunch and dinner; we will be offering a sumptuous buffet for Breakfast and Lunch. The restaurant focuses on the vivacity of Indian culture showcasing different genres of kebabs and, curries and much more which is highlighted during dinner where we serve ala-carte. The food we bring to you is the culmination of research and trials conducted by our chefs over the past couple of months. The menus will be seasonal, starting with the winter dinner menu as the opening.

 

About The Chef:

Arindam Bahel, The Executive Chef gives traditional Indian cuisine a contemporary twist with innovative presentations, and use of rare herbs and exotic spices. He has 18+ years of indigenous as well as international experience in culinary operations and guest’s service, mastering various cuisines from India.

 

 

Sustainable beverage concept

Being the most recent addition to Yak and Yeti’s dining options, we present the most modern and need of the hour drinks concept, Being Sustainable. This is a combination of a drive for waste reduction and creative thinking, by eliminating plastic straws, locally sourced ingredients, no bottled syrups and use of fresh fruits together with spices to create the concoctions.
