There was a time when sweeping house floors used to be a torture on your back. It did not matter whether it was a broom stick or a vacuum cleaner; the consequences were the same. MI recently introduced a new highly intelligent product -- the Mi House Swee

Innovation in home technology is scaling new heights. Automated machineries require less human effort for their operation and there might come a time when robots start taking control over humans. Jokes apart, the Mi House Sweep Robot is designed with the aim of offering bigger suction power, longer battery life, all the while requiring less human intervention.

The machine has following features:

  • A 9.6 cm pure white body
  • Modular design
  • Sealed dust box
  • Human anti-hair design
  • Simple and elegant looks

In terms of its design, the robot has a sophisticated modular design which makes for easier maintenance. The main body is divided into different parts: left and right walking wheel; edge brush module; main brush module; LDS module; caster; battery; and seven other modules. Due to its minimalistic design and color it gives out a bit of an Apple appeal. Because the device is small in size, it does not get in your way and weighs only around 3.8 kg. Now, let's get to know the device piece by piece.

Battery

The robot comes with a 5200mAh (14.4V/74.88Wh) lithium ion battery that is good for up to two and a half hours of continuous cleaning, after which it automatically returns to its base for recharging.

Dustbin

The bin is easily accessible and can store about 0.42 liters of dirt. A cool feature indeed, especially when you consider the fact that it has a bin sensor that indicates when the robot needs emptying.

Filters

The airflow in the device is completely sealed, so the smaller dust particles end up in the HEPA filter.  Unfortunately, there are no extra filters, and these parts are not usually washable.

Navigation

The Mi House Sweeping Robot uses 12 different sensors to navigate your home including an ultrasonic radar sensor, a cliff sensor, a gyroscope, and an accelerometer. It also includes a speedometer and an electronic compass. However, the most impressive bit of this machine has to be the laser distance sensor -- a small disc noticeably spinning on top of the device -- which makes the device capable of scanning its surroundings in full 360 degree up to 1800 times a second. There are also four clip sensors that prevent the device from falling down the stairs.

Mi Home App

The device can function through either commands given using the two buttons on the case or through the Mi Home App, which is available on both IOS and Android. You can toggle it on and off, set the cleaning schedules, monitor progress, and switch between the three cleaning modes, as long as you have an internet connection. The Mi Home app controls a wide range of wireless devices from Xiaomi, including their air purifiers, and light fittings.

Xiamo's Mi House Sweep Robot is available at the company outlets and cost around NRs. 54,999.
