"Great nails don't happen by chance." You have to take care of them. But, don't worry, going to a salon is not only an option.

1. How to take care of our nails at home?

  • Taking care of nails is necessary when it comes to hygiene and health. It does not take much of your time to do some nail care routine at your home.
  • First, you need to take a bowl with warm water.
  • Add some salt and squeeze a whole lemon into it.
  • Soak your hands into the water for 10-15 minutes, rinse and apply hand moisturizer.

If you have got filers at home, give a good shape to your nails. The nail cutter also comes with a filer. You can use that too. If you are more active in kitchen work, don't forget to use hand gloves. The frequent contact with water makes your nails go thinner and crack. The dishwashing soaps contain acid, which is harmful to your nails.

2. What can we do to keep our nails strong?

Take good care of your nails the way I said earlier. If you want your nails to grow stronger naturally, then you must:

  • Never bite your nails or cut your cuticles.
  • Make sure you clip off the hangnails rather than ripping them off.
  • Never use harsh nail care products.
  • Never ignore nail problems.

3. Under what conditions should we consult a doctor?

  • If your nail colour starts to change, it might be discolouration or a dark streak under your nail. It is not normal, do visit the doctor.
  • This one might sound unreal, but the nail problem might come with the changes in nail shape, such as curled nails.
  • Separation of the nail from the surrounding skin is not normal.
  • Have your nails ever bled? If so, you must visit a doctor.
  • Consult the doctor if you feel swelling or pain around the nails.
