Hygiene Guidelines for Home Isolation

Cleaning options for a houseroom for self-isolation after the presence of a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
1. First, the room should be well ventilated with fresh air for a minimum of 1 hour
2. Thereafter, carefully cleaned with a neutral detergent, followed by decontamination of surfaces using a disinfectant effective against viruses (0.1% Sodium hypochlorite). Cleaning procedure, use of disinfectants & textile cleaning should follow hot-water cycle (90°C) & regular laundry detergent or lower temperature water, bleach, or any other laundry detergent.
3. For cleaning surfaces: disposable, single use cleaning material is suggested. The cleaning person should wear gloves and a surgical mask.
4. Hand hygiene should be followed each time after removing gloves or masks.
5. Waste material should be placed in a separate bag and disposed of in the unsorted garbage.
