Not to mention but finding balance in life is no easy task, becoming intuitive when it comes to listening to your body along with the mind up there which mostly tends to live in the dark place, is more difficult than one might have ever imagined. There are a lot of people struggling to confidently be themselves, struggling to recover from eating disorders and getting too consumed with the way their body looks rather than how it feels. When you love someone, you do anything to make that person feel better and loved, then why is it not the same case for yourself? Why does self-love have to be forced some days? What can be the ways to take care of your body and to give your fullest so as to build a healthy relation between you and your body?

Unlearning all the habits that only affect your health and make you feel uneasy can be the starter pack in this journey. To internalize body positivity is a long time process but the consistent effort never disappoints. Happiness should not be the number on the weight scale or the money on the bank account but the mental peace and how you feel and how your body makes you feel. The way one succeeded in this journey might not work for someone else but there are some concrete ways that cannot go wrong. 

  1. Hydrating your body:

Drinking enough water has a lot to do with proper functioning of your body. From good mood, improving sleep quality, regulating body temperature, keeping joints lubricated, prevention of infections, etc. Experts recommend for women and men to drink 11 cups and 16 cups of water so as for the proper functioning of the body. Eating lots of fruits, vegetables, can also be the way to incorporate more water into your body. Drinking water not only makes the internal body well functioned but we can see and feel our skin glowing.
 

  1. Start Exercising:

Not only to get rid of the extra body fat, but during the work out, your body releases endorphin that are mood elevators. Regular physical activity improves sleep quality, boosts energy, combats health conditions and diseases as well as tone your body. According to the experts,130 minutes a week or 70 minutes of vigorous of workout is considered to be healthy. You can cooperate any kind of exercise that you feel enjoyable like walking, running, weight lifting, dancing, swimming etc. The fit body makes you feel good and healthy.

  1. Consistent effort towards positivity:

Looking at your body from a positive eye is a long-term process. All the insecurities, body shaming yourself and getting rid of those negative thoughts takes time. Putting on gym gear and finding the self-motivation to go for a walk needs consistency. After doing something we like, something that makes us happy is a different feeling that really calms us down.

  1. Get yourself away from social media’s body standard-

Unfriend, unfollow, block people, cut off those who make you doubt your ability, your beauty and makes you feel less of a person. Don’t be so quick to believe what you see on social media. Real people are full of imperfections and flaws and that is okay. The perfect body on social media are probably photoshopped and are not even real, so accepting the way you can be helpful.

No matter how much you are succeeding in life, how much weight you can lift, how many places you have been, how many friends you have made, if your mental health is unstable and you do not find peace in your life, you still have a long way to succeed in life. Meditation surely can help with escaping from the outer world, the chaos and to center yourself. It does not matter what time of a day you are meditating, it always works the best. Mental wellness is the most important thing in your life. There are in fact lots of meditation techniques on the internet and just 5-10 minutes a day can help you relax and rebalance.

Loving your body is a two-way process. Your body loves you when you love your body, take care of it, accept, challenge and focus on the beautiful moments in life, you will find yourself feeling much better and in a happy place. It’s never too late to start something beneficial and positive. Convince yourself that your body is beautiful just the way it is and that you are to live with it your whole life, you cannot detach yourself from you, so might as well accept it fully and carry your imperfections graciously.
