The Art of Gratitude
Gratitude nourishes your soul. Today, they say the world is being cruel and people are inhuman. Nevertheless, practicing the art of Gratitude can spread positivity and bring the chaotic world into the same page of smiles and happiness.
“The essence of all beautiful art, all great art is gratitude.”- Friedrich Nietzsche”. We often tend to take things/people for granted, what we have is never enough, the privileges we get to live on do not seem very much important to us, that’s how we enter into the world of disturbing headspace. When we are living like that, even the most beautiful moon seems to be lonely and dark. Hence, we cannot stress enough how important it is to learn to be grateful, to learn the art of Gratitude.
Now, with this, we come to one question. How can we practice the art of Gratitude?
- Journaling:
Writing can be a great healer. Take some time to journal your thoughts, write at least one thing that you are happy about, or that you are grateful for. Reflecting on what you have lived through and what you have gone through, all the experiences that have taught you, helps you focus on positive things in life. To be grateful needs nothing bigger but the little things that make you smile.
- Say thank you:
Thank you is such a powerful word to say. “Thank you for being here”, “Thank you for letting me know the truth”, “Thank you for helping me”, “Thank you for coming into my life.” I feel that “Thank you “can make people feel loved and appreciated. Thank people for making your life beautiful.
- Bravo yourself:
All the struggles, all the sad moments, all the downhills and you are still here, fighting for you. you believe in yourself and hence you are who you are. There might be failures (maybe a lot) but you didn’t give up. you chose to wake up and fight the battles. We are proud of you! Be proud of yourself too! Be grateful for yourself and the self- motivation will make you achieve the milestone.
- Meditate:
Sometimes, all you need is just feel what you feel. Escaping or running away from feelings will take you nowhere. The great way to listen to yourself, feel all the blood flowing and your heart pumping can be achieved through meditation. It is probably the most underestimated form of practicing Gratitude. Focus and concentrate on yourself and be thankful to god for blessing you with a life. focusing can bring the positivity to center around your mind. it is more like a nourishment to your body, mind and soul.
Appreciating people whom you can count on, being grateful for the journey you have walked through in life, all the privileges that you have worked hard for, and being thankful for whatever you have is so much important to keep you happy and grounded. That’s what it means to practice the art of Gratitude. Doing so might be a big struggle for us. Being happy is not so easy today and finding peace can be anxious. However, one step at a time towards being grateful to people and ourselves can help you become happy and satisfied with life.
