I, as a teenager, love fashion. Clothes, shoes, jewellery and accessories express our personalities, identity and style. As we develop preferences, the value of fashion increases.

Looks don't matter to a child. We wore whatever our parents dressed us up in when we were kids. As a kid, I didn't care about the fit of my pants or the colour of my shoes. But as I transitioned from being a kid to a teenager, I started to care more about the clothes I wore and whether they matched my accessories. I started shopping for myself instead of just letting my mom do so. Now, my sense of fashion is something I value. As I have grown older, I have started taking longer to get ready. Before, I used to wear whatever my mom dressed me in, but now it's about finding the right outfit, matching accessories like rings and necklaces, and putting on occasional makeup. For me wearing a decent attire is about looking good, but it is also directly correlated with my mood. When I look into the mirror in the mornings with a great outfit, I feel confident and put together. It makes me happy and ready to take on the day.

A big part of my "getting ready" is the jewellery I wear. Over the past couple of years, I have enjoyed buying and wearing different rings, bracelets, and necklaces. Some people collect shoes, watches or bags. For me, it has been jewellery. Wearing it makes me feel fashionable and happy. As for me, a big part of growing up is gaining preferences and tastes. It is like a hobby for me. As a child, I never cared about wearing any accessories. I started doing this after being pickier about the clothes I wore.

Much of what I wear and buy is influenced by what's trending. Social media and celebrities set various trends every day. In this virtual day and age, one piece of clothing can start trending, and every teen will want it. However, as trends come and go, only some last. New trends are popular but not for everyone. In my opinion, everyone goes through a trial phase. There will always be this time when someone will try something new for some time. They will either like it or not. It is a part of figuring out what they are comfortable wearing. I have personally done the same. As I tried new trends and tested new looks, I have become more aware of what clothes I like and what I enjoy wearing.

Fashion is a way of expression and a part of our personalities. Preferences and styles become more prominent as we grow older and care more about fashion and trends. Over time, the value of fashion increases. It is something that evolves and changes just like us.
