If you desire to pursue a professional course in Nepal or abroad, but don’t have enough funds to cover the tuition and other expenses at the desired college, you can apply for an education loan to finance your higher education. The loan is offered easily with your property as mortgage, or proof of parents’ income. The loan amount generally covers admission fee, tuition fee, examination fee, laboratory fee, library fee, and other fees payable to college and hostel. The cost incurred for purchasing books, equipment, instruments required for the course, transportation cost for foreign studies, boarding and lodging expenses can also be covered. Some of the documents required to apply for student loans are: a copy of citizenship of parents and the student, relationship certificate, acceptance letter, and schedule for payment from the university, “No Objection Letter” from the Ministry of Education, copy of land ownership document (Lal Purja), land revenue, and tax payment receipt, income certifying document, blue print of land, and building completion certificate from Municipality/VDC and recent passport size photograph of parents and student. Company registration and PAN are if the primary source of income is business.
