Burger hunt at Lama Grill
Finding a good burger is a mission for most of us. Lama Grill certainly does justice to the round world of burgers.
In the hunt for the best burgers, we headed to the Lama Grill, Kupondole Height. What a burger! An eatery place with heart-warming people to welcome us, we conversed with the Owner, Mr. Umesh Lama. He told us a little backstory of how it all started. His journey starts when he was abroad and today, he has five outlets here in the valley. His intention of bringing authentic burger flavors into the town and his sincerity have led him to succeed in winning the hearts of people. Now, let’s talk about BURGER!
Diego:
Diego, a wrap is the best way to coat your stomach before gulping all those heavy burgers. They are aiming to bring the Burrito into the town, so for now, the burrito minus the rice is called the Diego Wrap. The buff sausage, ham, fries, avocado, iceberg lettuce, topped with egg, spring onions, and black pepper stuffed inside the Tortilla makes the wrap thick and healthy. You get every ingredient at every bite making it all come together perfectly. You might want to go a little hungrier to finish this one. The Mexican dish, Wrap does not disappoint and I cannot wait until they launch it in a proper Burrito style.

Magical Burger:
Juicy and full of flavors! The double patty, their special sauce, with no skimp on the cheese makes it phenomenal. Yes, the double patty leaves no room for complaint. They butter the bun on the top making it all slimmer. It is a traditional burger from Cervia, and the Lama Grill’s owner was inspired by the Cervian Chef. The very constrict and particular recipe that Magical burger has, take it to another level. They use exactly 200 grams of ground buff and the patty has the cheese stuffed inside as well as on top of it. Their special sauce oozing with the cheese melting down whilst the Caramelized onion accompanying well is the perfect combo. Chef’s kiss!

American Classic Chicken Burger:
We all love some classic burgers! You must try the American Classic Checker Burger available here. They have replaced beef with Chicken patty as per the Nepali demand. The lettuce, onions, and tomatoes which interestingly are not raw, and full of sauce make the burger juicy and rich. ‘American’ is deliberately kept in the name as they are not remixing with the Nepalese flavors.
Price: Rs.460
Nangsi Cheese Burger:
The Nangsi Cheeseburger was originally huge. However, considering the food wastage due to oversize, they started serving regular-sized ones. The ground buff is smashed into a thin crispy patty along with Cheddar cheese, and no other onion or tomato, or lettuce. Just meat, bun, sauce, and cheese equal heaven. They claim to use Cheese from Denmark as raw cheese these days are in shortage. However, the local market always remains on the priority list.

Phoenix Burger:
I know vegetarians are complaining right now but don’t worry because Lama grill serves plant-based burgers too. As a non-veg, I might not have found it super amazing but considering the ingredients, it is amazing. Just by the sight of it, or even cutting into the patty, we cannot reckon it as a plant-based burger. The patty looks a little red inside, a similar look to medium-rare beef. They have brilliantly used their mind to bring the meaty texture with the right amount of mushroom, beetroot, soybean, and red beans altogether to make a patty.

We had an amazing time there with good conversation. The tourists especially, those who miss their burgers back home get to satisfy their cravings here and they are happy with the feedback too. If you are a parent, you can bring your children to enjoy burger time with them or even come with your friends and have fun!
