He feels that nowadays people are getting busier day-by-day due to which they lack time to make their own achaar. The best thing about Achaar Ghar is that all the ingredients that are used in the dishes are locally available, but are brought from many places of Nepal.

Achaar Ghar certainly has its specialty on achaars, but it offers many types of dishes based on Nepalese cuisine. Some of the recommended dishes at Achaar Ghar are:

  1. Timmur Chicken (Kukhura):
    It is one of the best dishes at Achaar Ghar, and is certainly a delicacy for chicken lovers. Chunks of chicken are pan fried with the spices, and timmur is certainly the hero of the prime ingredient in the dish. This dish is priced at Rs. 389.
     
  2. Mutton Poleko:

Chunks of mutton are marinated before adding traditional spices. It is then char fried (barbequed). It is recommended to be taken with Mixed Spices Pickle/Timmur ko Chop. This dish is also Chefs Specialty here. This dish is priced at Rs. 549.

  1. Fafar ko Pakauda
    Vegetables are finely shredded and are dipped in buckwheat batter, mixed with spices and then shallow fried. It is recommended to be taken with Mixed Spices Pickle, Akabare Pickle or Timmur ko Chop. The price of this dish is Rs. 289. Achaar Ghar is also a delight for vegetarians as many dishes including this one, is 100% vegetarian.

    Akbaare Achaar is made from the Akbaare chili which is also known as the king of chilies. All the Akbare chilies at Achaar Ghar are brought from Makwanpur district which is a really special place for chili in Nepal. Very spicy in its taste this pickle is cleaned, sorted and then preserved as per requirement. The price of 200gms of Akbaare Achaar is Rs. 260.

With regards to the ambience, it is one of the finest restaurants around Jhamsikhel for a family dinner. It is an ideal place for a date, or just to hang around with friends. It is also has a wide variety of vegetarian dishes as well, so all types of preferences can be taken care of at this restaurant. Within three months of its establishment Achaar Ghar has already won the hearts of many with its authentic Nepalese achaars and luscious dishes.
