As the elders suggest, it is all about discipline. And discipline in a lot of ways is about organizing yourself and your actions, which can be made easier by first organizing your documents.

Action can be organized only when necessary things are in order.  It not only saves time (you don’t have to spend time searching), but also eliminates clutter and gives you peace of mind.  Simply said it makes life easier.

Now documents are necessary for obvious reasons.  They evidences of identity, achievements and ownership.  When it comes to family, the paper works matter even more.  From birth certificates, report cards, citizenships, government documents, the list could go on and on. Having these documents on hand whenever required would mean a great relief, especially, during emergency.

There are ways with which these documents can be effectively managed and used whenever required.

1. The old school way:

It all begins with the physical format.  So the best possible way to organize them would be to file them.  File them in most simplified manner.  A file or box needs to be placed for each member of the family.  The file or the box is then again sub-divided into government documents, academics, commercial papers etc.

2. Click photos or scan documents:

Now the documents could be damaged or lost for varied reasons.  It is always good to have back up for everything, especially documents that are of great importance.  The most effective backup would be to click pictures of every documents or scan these documents and then put them in well defined folders in your computer or phone.

3. Digitize document:

Having backups of the backup is essential.  In fact, it’s the smartest thing one could ever implement. In the era of digitalization and cloud facilities, an individual can easily get their documents saved on the cloud, Google drive or Drop box. That way you have easy access to your important documents every place you go and it doesn’t matter even if you to change your device. It is always with you.
