Life is better with comfort food Sara’s Bistro

It is undeniable that one of the best food experiences that I have had so far is at local restaurants around town that provide flavors that one simply cannot forget. Just last week, as I was walking down the street, I saw a little wooden place around the corner that looked very inviting, so my hungry stomach decided to pay it a little visit.

As I entered, the service staff greeted me with a beautiful smile that automatically made me feel welcomed and at ease being there. As I sat down, they served water, which for me is rather important and portrays proper etiquette of any restaurant and sets a good impression. Looking around, the place had been decorated with antique paintings, the one you see around Patan and the one of the walls was also constructed with one of our typical Nepali stones as we call “Itas”. It felt as if I time traveled and went on to an old yet subtly modern architectural designed Newari home. It had a homely ambience, minimal vibe and a place where you feel like you belong and I couldn’t wait to try the food they offered. Despite their culturally enticing ambience, they offered multi-cuisine dishes.

As I was very hungry, I decided to eat some comfort food so I ordered their chicken wings and chicken panini which was exactly what I was expecting to eat. The chicken wings tasted familiar, inviting and delicious. Without any shame, I started eating it with my fingers and it was a burst of flavors in my mouth. The chicken was succulent yet crispy and laced invitingly with green onions and salad on the side. It had a nice smoky flavor that made it feel like I was eating a homemade meal. The taste was authentic and the presentation was equally worthy for an Instagram picture.

The next dish I got to savor was their chicken panini, its name intrigued my interest but I was quite hesitant to try a new dish but to my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. The chicken was juicy and had an addictive taste. The chicken was modestly portioned with charred onions, tomatoes, and fresh lettuce and most of all the cheese made the whole dish stand out even more. The bread had a fresh and crispy taste and were not too bland or heavy. The fries on the side made the dish more delicious and was satisfyingly belly-filling. All of these flavors went exceptionally together and the dish was a 10 out of 10 for me.

As I was almost done with my food, I thought to myself that this is one of those places I would definitely visit if I ever crave for comfort food again, especially for the chicken panini. If you are someone like me who prefers to eat homely and comfort food, then visiting Sara’s Bistro for some quiet quality date, a good family lunch/dinner or for your next hunger hunt with your foodie friends would be a great decision.
