The first Brownie was prepared by the chef at Chicago’s Palmer Hotel in 1893 with walnuts inside and an apricot glaze on top. Well, even though we couldn’t taste that particular one, we can make brownies at our home.

“A Brownie a day keeps frownies away”. Especially, if you have a sweet tooth or your children want a special baking session, or you want love experiments in the kitchen, you must try this brownie recipe. Within an hour, we can get this delicious, fudgy brownie right on your plate. Let’s see the recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 125 g Dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
  • 3 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 335g (1& ½ cups) white sugar
  • 115g (3/4 cups) of all-purpose flour
  • 30g (1/4 cup) Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Step 1:

The first step is to preheat the oven to 180c/160c and grease a 20 cm (base measurement) square cake pan and line it with baking paper.

Step 2:

Melt the butter and sugar with cocoa powder. For this, fill the saucepan with 1-2-inch water, place it on the stove, and bring it to a boil. Place a slightly smaller, heat-safe bowl on top of the saucepan until the ingredients melt consistently.

Step 3:

Remove from heat and mix all the ingredients like eggs, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt until just combined. The batter will look like a shiny pudding.

Step 4:

Add the all-purpose flour little by little to avoid the lumps. Keep on beating the batter consistently until the thick texture is achieved. Lastly, put in the chopped dark chocolate pieces and combine just okay (not too much) or you can only top the brownie batter with those chocolate pieces. When all the ingredients mix perfectly and evenly, the baking session will be as required.

Step 5:

Now, the final step is to bake the batter in the oven for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs clinging. Set aside to cool off completely. (the hot brownie might break off while cutting)

Ovens might vary, so you should keep checking to avoid the brownies to be over or undercooked. You can top the brownie with fruits, ice cream, nuts, or anything you like. The extra fudgy texture comes with the minimum use of the flour, hence you can customize it as per your preference. Make sure you try this recipe at home!
