MAMAGOTO
Food has always been the best way to connect people not only individually but culturally as well. It is the best way to ease tension between the bonds and bring wide smiles to exhausted faces.
Mamagoto, being a great restaurant with good food, already had our attention. Basically meaning ‘to play with food’ by the name itself. Mamagoto has a great interior and very attractive decor but what had our attention is how the food was amazing and served the best it could be.
- Pok Choy Wrapped Chicken
The first dish we tried was beautifully decorated Pok Choy Wrapped Chicken. Wrapped with the green and filled in with chicken, the dish already lightened up the whole mood. The dish was delicate enough to give a soft taste. The spice flavor added a little more to the taste of the food. The wrapped around gave a raw taste and the stuffed chicken gave an appealing taste. When I took my fist bite, I felt something I never did with dumplings. They were round and small and could fit in so deliciously enough.
- California Roll with Tobiko
The second dish was an amazing combination of rice, avocado, crab meat and Japanese mayonnaise. It was very well decorated and by seeing it only I knew that it was going to taste quite amazing. It had a soft texture and complemented the rice and meat really well. The taste of avocado was very specific and every bite was satisfying enough.
- 1990 Chilli Chicken
The third dish was 1990 Chilli Chicken with juicy and spicy taste. The look of it was already shiny and it was cooked really well. I immediately was taken over by the beautiful look of the dish and dug into it. The first bite I took will always stay in my memory. It was a touch of spice with soft chewy flavor. The sauce that came along was equally good. It had a very unique and exquisite dip and the combination created a subtle feeling that generated a really good experience for my taste buds.
- Smoky BBQ Pork Belly Bowl
The pork belly was the fourth dish that had Chinese flavored BBQ Sauce with sticky fried rice, pak choy, baby corn and finished with a fried egg and served along with Red Chilli Oil. The dish was alluring enough and it definitely took the spotlight of the table. I slowed down my excitement and slowly mixed the bowl together to take the best taste out of the food. The unfamiliar look of the dish with the rest of the side dishes was perfect. I already knew I could eat this dish as many times and still not get tired. Once I took the first spoon and tasted it, my every expectation with the dish was met. It was rich and delicate which immediately melted down with the joy it created in me. It was very simple yet had a heavy appeal to my senses.
- Veg Crystal Dumplings
The last but never the least dish was Veg crystal dumplings. The name was quite amazing with the translucent look of dumpling wrappers. The translucent parcels were filled with water chestnut, shitake, lotus root and carrot. The fillings were beautifully rucked in to give the food amazing form and the juicy look already let me know that it would have an extraordinary taste. Well, it obviously did and I can actually say I will always go back for the same dish again and again.
- Kiwi and mint Collins
The drink had freshly muddled kiwi, mint and lime which was topped with soda. The taste was really cool and every sip refreshed my mind well enough. There was a mix of sweet and sour taste with small pieces of mint leaves giving wonderful taste. It had a taste of lime with a touch of classic sip. And till the last sip of the drink, I could still feel a different experience.
- Pomegranate Martini
This drink was a naturally pressed fresh pomegranate mixed with vodka or gin and shaken with sweet and sour mix. The definite taste of pomegranate and a little lime taste was quite different from usual drinks. The sip took a burn in the neck and still managed to chill the body. I could not stop myself from having more of it.
The entire set of the pan Asian food was my favorite and I can’t choose one from these 5 dishes. Mamagoto has an amazing way of presenting the dishes in a unique and amazing way. The decor of food was equally amazing and the taste was unexplainable. Every one of my expectations were very easily met.
Want to know something special about Mamagoto?
Mamagoto’s food is not authentic (there’s no such word in our dictionary, it sounds too serious); Instead it is a fusion of inspiration from Asian street hawkers, our extensive travels, mad experiences and endless experimentation in those secret kitchens located deep within the core of the Earth (and you thought the Batcave was secret).
We keep popping up quirky new dishes & drinks every now & then, which makes us madly addictive.
Drinks in Mamagoto
We have created concoctions that we believe are not available elsewhere, they’re deconstructed, added again (and then we don’t know how they got so good). Using fresh juices and ingredients where possible, a concise and yummy range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
