Comic and Cosplay Convention 2019

Com Cos Con or Comic & Cosplay Convention began as an initiative by Next Entertainment to provide a platform to young and aspiring Nepalese artists to showcase their artistic talents, story writing skills through the magazine “Otaku Next”; the very first Nepalese manga magazine of Nepal. At the launch of every issue of our magazine we always hosted an event which promoted the Manga* (Japanese Comics) magazine while also encouraging people to Cosplay* (costume role play) as their favorite characters from anime, manga, comic book, game, Marvel, DC or any pop culture, TV shows or movie characters.
The event evolved as a forum for the community of anime, manga, comic book, games, pop culture and Superhero fans to connect, meet, interact and share their ideas and help create their own interpretations of the culture through art, cosplay and manga.

Additionally, Com Cos Con also hosts various online and live contests, competitions and tournaments alongside performances by popular artists. These are based in various fields such as art, craft, cosplay, song, dance, media and gaming which are part of the highlights along with the attendees who cosplay and express their love of what interests them.

Starting the first event in the September of 2014 AD, the event saw an attendance of 500+ attendees. As the years went by the event gradually grew over time to witness over 5000 enthusiastic attendees to make Com Cos Con the first Anime and Pop Culture Themed Convention in Nepal.
As of 2019, Next Entertainment; also known as ‘Otaku Next’, has also become a part of IOEA – International Otaku Expo Association, Japan, in hopes of encouraging foreign attendees to attend the event here in Nepal.

With an aim to further grow the Otaku Community in Nepal, Otaku Next is organizing their fifth Com Cos Con on November 1st and 2nd (Kartik 15th & 16th) at LABIM Mall, Pulchowk. This is their first time introducing people to a two-day event which is free for everyone to attend and will have various entertainment and attractions for everyone to enjoy. Next Entertainment’s goal has always been to promote this sub-culture and thus the 2-day FREE event at LABIM Mall,Pulchowk,Lalitpur.

Next Entertainment whole-heartedly invites everyone to experience the elements of the Otaku World alongside the thriving and ever growing Otaku Community of Nepal.
