Cellphones or smartphones have become an inseparable need in everyone’s life. There is no second thought that our smartphone is capable of connecting you with the whole world, but we also cannot deny the fact that it is also capable of disconnecting you to the people who are around you.I have seen many people, who just after getting back home get started with their smartphones.Lord knows what they do, but their eyes are glued on it all the time. Just few weeks back my mom was complaining my dad about this smartphone addiction. Right after he is back to home from office, he is all into his phone. At times she gets so annoyed that she even calls his smartphone her sister wife.

Binod Das: For me it is because it takes out those important moments that you spend with your spouse even if you are together. As we tend to spend little bit more time on phones and we miss out on those moments which would have not happened if your phone was not there. It does take out that moment of ecstasy, that sudden moment of charm from your life. But again, it also gives you an added advantage when you are not around.
How long do you spend your time on cellphone and whom do you spend your time more with?
Binod Das: In my case I am most of the time on phones.Whether I am at home, watching TV or even when I am around my kids I keep on doing something or the other on my phone.Till the time I do not fall asleep I am always using my phone. If I am awake for around 16 hours a day, I probably would be using it for 10 hours a day.
Karuna:I do spend quite a time on my cellphone when I am free. But my utmost priority are my kids so I spend most of my time with our kids, then with him (pointing her husband) and least on cellphone.

Do you at times check your spouse’s cellphone or wish to check someday?
Binod Das: She does that all the time (both of them laugh out loud) and I understand that as I have too many friends. But I rarely check her phone; actually I do not check her phone. I do not remember checking her phone for certain reason but when my kids are playing with her phone I go through her picture albums, so that’s it.
Karuna:Yes I do check his phone time and again. It is not because of insecurity but at times I just feel like (laughs).
What all are the pros and cons of having a smartphone?
Binod Das: For me the best thing of having a smartphone is even if you are not together you are not distant in a way that you can always communicate and with the amount of technology coming in, you can always have video chats and many other so that is the biggest plus. Also it is my companion for work as I do lots of work from my phone. But there are lots of cons, if you get addicted to it; it takes away your personal life, it alsotakes away whole lot of time from your life.
Karuna: As I do not use much of a phone there are not any negative aspect of it for me whereas its pros are you are always updated by the use of social networking sites and it comes handy when in time of emergency.
